We are Shadow Mountain Nature Park—a passionate group of conservationists and outdoorspeople who live in the Shadow Mountain community with the drive to preserve our open spaces and educate the next generation of environmental stewards. We want to propose a new idea for the Shadow Mountain Meadow—a limited access nature park focused on education and stewardship by seeking a recreation lease with the Colorado State Land Board.
Cultivating the next generation of environmental stewards through responsible recreation
We envision a space where people of all ages can learn about the Great Outdoors and natural resources unique to Colorado. The Shadow Mountain Nature Park will provide the space and programming to promote environmental stewardship and learning in the spaces we are passionate about protecting.
Humans + Nature
We want to create a space for Colorado residents and visitors, children and adults, groups and clubs, and other organizations—anyone who has an interest in learning about and expressing appreciation for nature.
Shadow Mountain Nature Park wants to provide exclusive reservation-only access to the Shadow Mountain Meadow through permits and programs. We intend to invite schools, clubs, and other organizations to leverage our programming to promote environmental and STEM learning, as well as individuals and families to learn about our beautiful natural landscapes and enjoy nature without the crowds.
We believe this exclusive reservation-only access provides the best experience for our human visitors while protecting the habitat and migration paths for our wild neighbors for generations to come.
